Blogs!
I really really like this site!
It is just that I feel like I am on an island here and nobody reads……….or blogs.
Maybe everybody = on FB or twitter ?
The only way we can tell is with comments. Huh?
Maybe the way to go, and this is a question, is to reply to a comment on the blog of the person who left the comment?

If you comment on other peoples blogs, I’m sure they will reciprocate.
Blat has thousands of readers every day. There isn’t much interaction between Blat users, but I guess that’s up to the Blat users to sort out
Remember that blogging is not an instant gratification pastime. If you want readers, you need to work at it. Sometimes it takes years - Unlike the popular view of the Internet that Mweb type ads (unfortunately) tend to perpetuate. i.e. Connect to the Internet and the world will beat a path to your door. Sorry, but things don’t work like that, regardless of the pictures that people like Mweb paint.
And what of the thousands of readers that Blat gets everyday? Well, about 90% of those people read my blogs.
I forgot to mention: There are other South African multi-user blogging sites that do have massive user interaction. Blat doesn’t have that because I delete all the affiliate marketing/MLM marketing/spam rubbish blogs. The sites that enjoy massive user interaction don’t care about the quality of their blogs, so all of their users, doing their best to get other users to buy their crap, comment on each others blogs - from whence cometh the user interaction.
This is a great example of the type of blog that I refuse to tolerate on Blat - http://bloglines.co.za/
Hi Mike,
Maybe there is a bit of a misunderstanding here? I think I know enough about what blogging is all about and that it is certainly not about ‘instant gratification’ (for me) as you so aptly put it.
That is not my point, It is not about a zillion comments, or being on a chat room either. I am really not looking for popularity (or whatever MWeb advertises?) & the last thing I need is a path to be ‘beaten to my door’.
But I have really no way of telling who reads my blogs. As you can see I did not install a so called hit counter because even that would not give me much information. Hits could be from some to see what to ‘sell ‘to me for that matter. (And yes I am grateful that you do stop spam.)
All I can really go by is the other bloggers who blog, & what (content) is being blogged and how often new blogs appear. I do see the same random blogs come up regularly though ( Good idea you have here!)
Not everybody is going to read me and I am not going to read everybody.
I avoid anything that sounds like an advertisement but I like the Boschendal entry.
This particular blog (of mine) was in fact a response to Whitewolf who asked why I don’t keep up this blog on a regular basis. And it was never meant to be read as criticism.
I don’t seem to be having much joy getting a visit, hit…. counter on my page. I am too computer illiterate to get it right. Help.
Comments, to me, are an encouragement to keep writing. If I don’t know if anybody is reading my articles, why bother
Wheely you can download these counters from the Internet (just google hit counters or like) and then insert what they give you - as per their instructions - into a widget which you should be able to find here on blat (html).
Otherwise Mike would be the right person to guide you.
As I said in my comment above I just need to know WHO reads me because one tends to write for an audience.
In other words say for argument’s sake I had a blogspot blog my content will differ from this to Iblog to my newsblog…..etcetera etcetera.
PS What is this blue little block at the bottom of my blog - is it for blat blogs in general or what?
Hit counters range from those that are very simple (providing nothing more than a count of hits) to those that are extremely compressive (Even providing stats on which cities visitors came from, the screen resolutions they use, how they found your blog, etc., etc., etc.). Blat allows you to use any hit counter that suits your needs - Even Google analytics, if you so desire
Something else: As you no doubt have already noticed, I make it a habit to read through all blog posts at least once a day. When I find something that I think is worthy of a “little nudge,” I do my best to promote that post. For example, I see that “wheelyboy” commented on your blog. Yesterday I posted two of his posts to Muti, and today I posted a third one to Facebook.
Thanks for the info, Mike

Wheely also blogs on iblog and I do read and comment whenever I am around and see his blog..
He knows
Sometimes we tend to duplicate blogs.
Thanks Mike and Fletcher
I have got a simple counter on my page and it seems to be working. Hit counters for dummies must go in the next blog.
I see you are getting more comments than on iblog.I am missing you new blog.As Mike says keep blogging. But you must do it for fun.
Thnaks Leo, you are most kind

I do believe a specific blog is for a specific audience - And I still have to figure this all out here.
When I have time and I have inspiration, I will blog.
